VoIP glossary - Broadband
Broadband
A transmission speed that is so fast, not even Superman could keep up with it! When it comes to the internet access, broadband refers to DSL or cable modems, which are eons faster than a "dial-up" modem, which - in truth - is considered old technology.
The actual speed of broadband? For downloading, five mega-bits per second are normal. Uploading hovers around 640 bits per second.
For a novice like you, broadband means you won't get disconnected during on-line calls or lose data during transfer actions.
